Local and National Scholarships

National Scholarships:

The National chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta offers annual scholarships and fellowships to all ALD members. Information for each scholarship can be found on the National ALD website. The national chapter offers the Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship, the James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship, Graduate Fellowships, and Service Fellowships which must be submitted in early February through the National ALD website.

Local Scholarships:

The University of Connecticut chapter of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society proudly awards several scholarships annually to our UConn chapter members. The ALD UConn chapter also presents an annual “Faculty of the Year” award to an exceptional member of the UConn faculty nominated by an ALD member. Full descriptions of the available scholarships and how to apply for them can be found below.

Katie Jo Michel Roaming Husky Award Awarded to a member participating in a study abroad program  $1000
Paper ‘n Paws Award Awarded to a member who excels academically and is involved in the community  $500
Dr. Seuss Book Award Awarded to a member to be applied towards the purchase of academic books  $250
Continuing Education Award Awarded to a graduating member who will be pursuing a graduate degree in their respective field  $500

Information on application details and due dates are sent out via email at the start of the spring semester. When applying be sure to submit all requested materials, otherwise your application will not be reviewed by the scholarship committee.
