The National chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta offers scholarships and fellowships to all ALD members. Information and the application for each scholarship can be found here. The Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship and the James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship applications must be submitted to the UConn chapter and the top three applications will be forwarded to National ALD. The Stemler Scholarship is due by January 29th, 2017 and the Trow Scholarship is due by March 4th, 2017. A physical copy must be handed into our office in ROWE/CUE room 235 by those dates. The ALD Graduate Fellowship applications are to be submitted directly to National ALD and are due by January 31st, 2017.
The University of Connecticut chapter of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society proudly awards several scholarships annually to our UConn chapter members. The ALD UConn chapter also presents an annual “Faculty of the Year” award to an exceptional member of the UConn faculty nominated by an ALD member. Full descriptions of the available scholarships and how to apply for them can be found below.
|Katie Jo Michel Roaming Husky Award||Awarded to a member participating in a study abroad program||$1000|
|Paper ‘n Paws Award||Awarded to a member who excels academically and is involved in the community||$500|
|Dr. Seuss Book Award||Awarded to a member to be applied towards the purchase of academic books||$250|
|Continuing Education Award||Awarded to a graduating member who will be pursuing a graduate degree in their respective field||$500|
Those eligible can apply for any of the above scholarships using this form. When applying be sure to submit all requested materials, otherwise your application will not be reviewed by the scholarship committee.
The deadline to submit all local scholarships is January 29th, 2017.
